Insanely. Great.

I am buried, deep and hard in a bunch of beautiful work, and had no plans to post until next week.

But then, something INCREDIBLE happened.  Something that literally BLEW ME AWAY.  And I couldn’t help myself.  I HAD to share it…

…A little while ago, a friend of mine who had really connected with my album said, “I think I’m going to make a video for you”.  I remember thinking: ‘that’s nice’.  Then I forgot about it.

Cut to: 2 months later.  My friend sends me a text that simply reads:  ‘Video done, tell me what you think’.  I cued it up thinking that I’d watch a little of it, then get back to work.

5 mins later, I was sitting, staring into space.  Literally, stunned into silence.

If I had commissioned a video; if I had paid someone to make it; or even if I had make it myself; I don’t think I could have made it any better.

Do not misunderstand me.  It is not a slick pop video, made with super high tech, melt your face off equipment.  It is lo-fi, and gorgeous.  And perfect.  For me, it’s literally, perfect.

Would you like to see it? 😉

What did you think?

And lastly, if you’d like to find out what I’m up to on a more day-to-day basis then here is my brain on Twitter:

  1. Reblogged this and commented:
I want to expose my readers to this emerging transitional consciousness so you can hear what reaching for a higher stage it self-awareness can sounds like…bob

  2. The feeling when you expect nothing and receive something that perfectly matches your idea, even when you didn’t know you had it, is beyond comparison. Congratulations on the perfect video 🙂

  3. It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d most certainly donate to this
fantastic blog! I guess for now i’ll settle for book-marking and adding your RSS feed to my Google account.
I look forward to fresh updates and will talk about this blog with my Facebook group.
    Chat soon!

  4. I think that what you published was actually very reasonable.
However, think about this, what if you were to create a awesome title?
I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your blog,
however what if you added a title that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean Insanely.
Great. | is kinda boring. You might peek at Yahoo’s home page and note
how they create article titles to get people to click.
You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to get people excited about what
you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would make
your posts a little bit more interesting.

  5. Superb blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a
little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so
many options out there that I’m completely confused .. Any
    tips? Appreciate it!

    1. Hey there,
Thanks a lot for your kind words – that’s very sweet of you to say. 😉
I would try out the free version of wordpress if I were you. It’s what I use for this site.
As for tips…I would just say, focus on making quality that has value for the people you will show it to. It sounds really basic, but, in my opinion it is the most important thing.
Hope that helps, if you need anything else, you know where I am.
      Have a great day,
      – J

  6. First off … thanks for introducing me to your blog by liking one of my posts. Second … Wow! You have a new fan!!! LOL! The song itself has a a haunting yet beautiful style/tone to it (I actually replayed it twice 😊). You can feel your emotion in the song. I wish more artists “felt” their music. For me, it also has a spiritual aspect to it. 🙏

“Where is the love I crave? … Love is a river … flows to the ocean … love is everywhere … never be lonely … never be fearful … love is everywhere.”

    1. Hey there, 😉
Thanks so much, I am really glad that you got something from it. Makes me happy.
      You are awesome.
      – J
P.S. You are totally welcome for the like. Keep up the good work! 😉

  7. The music & video are beautiful (one does not steal from the other). I loved the waves going back out (the whole thing was wonderful). Thank you for the visit & I’m glad you enjoyed my post.

      1. I agree, it’s a video you watch again & again. Also, I really enjoy your upbeat & positive writing style on your blog.

I’m happy to meet your acquaintance! I’m glad you enjoyed my post. Thank you for your nice comment.

  8. It’s really nice.It seems that the voice is from the river, from the nature. It feels comfortable. Thanks for letting me know about your music by liking my post.

  9. Somehow I missed this on my last visit;/ Well-matched, your music and the artfully done video. I’m learning so much about artistic pairings lately. It’s…enlightening. Keep up the great work, both of you!

  10. I am not positive the place you’re getting your info, however
great topic. I must spend a while studying much more or working out more.
Thank you for wonderful information I was on the lookout for this info for my mission.

  11. Hi there! I khow this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform
are youu using for this site? I’m getting tired of
Wordpress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another
platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me iin the
    direction of a good platform.

    1. No problem at all, happy to help.
This site is built with the wordpress platform, but it’s, and not (which is a very different thing indeed.)
I have found it to be pretty bomb-proof so far *touches wood*.
      Hope that helps,
      – J

  12. Really cool video. The song is so hauntingly beautiful and emotionally evocative, I feel like there’s an array of interesting designs/ slides/ video clips that could capture its mood and essence. Kudos to the video maker, it looks great.

    1. Thanks a lot. 😉
I think we’re both pleased with all the parts of it. The filmnaker loves the song and I love the visuals and we both like the whole. Glad you got something from it.
      Have a great day,
      – J

  13. Really cool video. The song is definitely hauntingly beautiful and can probably be matched with a whole array of interesting video clips/ designs/ slides. Off to see what else this blog has in its treasure chest 🙂

      1. The whole thing really gells; the visual, the music. its haunting, simple but very effective. In fact it could really be a very expensive video. I have shared it on facebook.

        1. Hey there, thanks so much, that means a lot to me – (and I’m sure to the guy who made the video) 😉
You are the awesome, and I hope your day is going well,
May the force be with you 😉
          – J

    1. Thankyou very much. That means a lot to me. I love that you like it. 😉
I love the video too, it’s great isn’t it? The guy who made the video is incredible.
Hope your day is being good to you,
      and thanks for stopping by,
      – J

      1. It was truly, my pleasure. You have a wonderful ‘ear’ for the beautiful… oh, just bless you. Keep at it.. love your work.

And thank you for the ‘like’ today on my post… I’ve updated it, as the film owner did a quick change, so I had to follow suit.

  14. The music is simply WONDERFUL. It’s rich. It’s full. It’s haunting… it takes one AWAY. Cool video too… but it was the music that ‘got’ me.

  15. Hey James, thanks for following me over at Above The Line…dropped in and caught this, really well done on both accounts. As a filmmaker I’m really drawn to the song and listened first without the video, imagining all kinds of troubled souls moving in and out of light and shadows, coming together and slipping away in silence and consternation. I’m just beginning to look around and listen, which is always exciting when something random happens and we stumble off course to find inspiration in the art of others. I really like the video as well, and not to toot my own horn while saying how much I like it, it does remind me of some of my work (and my wife’s, for that matter). I created a video for a friend in much the way your friend created this one for you, using “found footage home movies” spanning five years in the life of a mid western family to underscore the reflective nature of the lyrics and to form the starting point for a transient narrative. If you’re interested please check it out and let me know what you think.

Looking forward to seeing you around. cheers->

    1. Hey there,
You’re fully welcome. Really glad you enjoyed it.
If your work is similar (in terms of the video) you must be a talented man. Will try and check it out if I get the time, have a lot on at the moment, but if I get some spare, will do my best. 😉
Looking forward to seeing you too,
      – J

      1. Well hell, I didn’t mean to necessary throw myself out there like that, but thanks for the thoughts. No worries, time is what it is. See ya around the merry-go-round.

    1. It’s crazy right? That’s one of the reasons that I love it so much. 😉
I am glad you like it too. Thanks for stopping by, big hug,
and More Power to independent artists! 😉
      – J

  16. Thanks for visiting my blog. I had a really nice, and long! comment typed out using the tiny keyboard on my phone, and WordPress deleted it. So angry. Anyway, good stuff.

    1. That is poor luck right there. 😉
Was it a nice comment? Did you say lots of good things about me? I will choose to think so. 😉
Thanks a lot for stopping by, I hope your day is going super well, (apart from phone issues of course),
      – J

    1. AHHHHH!!! The praise! It is like a warm waterfall! 😉
Seriously tho, thankyou so much. I can only take credit for half of it.
May many goats be sacrificed to appease your raging viking blood.
      – J
P.S. (the goats thing was a joke. does not condone animal violence. No animals were actually harmed in this comment. Thankyou) 😉

  17. Love is a river….Love is everywhere……Flows to the Ocean…..Images of light, flame, water, flight, youth…..all of these……bring us to feelings we sometimes choose to remember, savoring them….in remembering, we can recreate, relive these…..again and again. Wind and rewind. Love is around us. Thank you for your song. The video serves as vehicle….your blog, a ticket to ride. Well done! 🙂 ~~~&~~~

    1. It’s beautiful isn’t it?
The best part was the fact that I had no idea he was putting it together. He had mentioned something about a video, but I really hadn’t given it a second thought.
It was a beautiful gift indeed.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is the awesome.
      – J

  18. This is quite a moving piece of music and words…

“where is the love; neve be fearful; never be lonely; love is a river…eveywhere…”

We need more parts of us telling us this…I’ve enjoyed this. I’m thankful – along with you – that soneone has recorded a video. I liked the tide moving in and out. Generally, I found this combination quite meditative and have enjoyed it.

    Until next time…
