First, I should say that there has been a BIG GAP between the first blog and this, second one.
This is due to a few reasons. Firstly, I am just getting used to the idea of blogging, and Secondly, I have been BUSY WRITING which (at least at the moment) is my main thing and is probably more important than blogging.
The deadline is 12 months to create this record. I figured that I would take the first 3 or 4 and just write. Write whatever. Generate a bunch of ideas and sketches which I can filter and whittle down to a smaller bunch to explore and deepen. I figured that 60 pieces in 4 months would be a good bench mark. I have ended up with over 100 pieces (that’s roughly six and a half hours worth of music), and around 300 poems.
I am Prolific Monkey.
I look at my calendar and I have no idea what else I have done in these last 4 months. Each day I score off time doing music and my workouts. I do have a list of the books I have read but, other than that, the big folder of all my demos which I keep on my hard drive is the only tangible evidence of my time.
I will spend the last section of May tightening these pieces up and making little mixes of everything. Then I will go away somewhere to let the pieces settle and get some space and silence. Then I will come back and begin the next phase, which I am looking forward to. A lot.
This is where I have spent most of my life in the last third of this year.
Thanks for reading this. I hope you are well.
